UPDATE: Car Into Building On Husky Trail, Warsaw
Pearl L. Elliott, 89, East Walnut Street, Warsaw, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital Sunday after her vehicle struck the Warsaw Family Worship Center. Elliott suffered minor bleeding to the elbow/lower arm.
A bystander, Joseph L. White, East CR 200N, Warsaw, was clipped in the knee by the vehicle, but refused medical treatment.
The accident occurred at 9:36 a.m. Sunday, at the worship center, located at 1250 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Elliott told police she was attempting to park in the gravel parking lot, when she accidentally put her foot on the accelerator instead of the break pedal.
The car struck the building.
Damage was estimated up to $25,000
INITIAL: At approximately 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, emergency personnel were called to the 1200 block of Husky Trail for a single-vehicle accident.
According to a Warsaw Police Department officer at the scene, the driver of the white sedan was trying to park at Warsaw Family Worship Center. She reportedly stepped on the gas instead of the brake and drove into the building.
Air bag deployment is reported. The driver is being treated by EMS for minor injuries.
Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS assisted on the accident.
