After School Is Cool
Come to After School is Cool on Tuesday, Dec. 2, to make some very wintry crafts. Let’s make snowflakes out of Q-tips, paper penguins and a popsicle stick reindeer. Miss Malea will show you how to turn some everyday household items into fun crafts.
Everyone attending After School is Cool enjoys a yummy snack. Invite your friends and make winter crafts to decorate your room at home or to give someone special for Christmas. Remember that each After School is Cool you attend earns you 10 points. When you have 40 points, you can choose a paperback book to add to your home library. See you on Tuesday, Dec. 2 for After School is Cool.
Knitting Club
Knitting Club is meeting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Even if you’ve never picked up a pair of knitting needles before, you’ll find plenty of help to get you started.
The knitting club meets on the first and third Friday of every month. Come and make a homemade gift for someone in your family as we approach the holiday season.
Craft Night: Candy Cane Wreath
Winter is here and so is the Christmas holiday. Join us for craft night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in the library meeting room. We will be making a wreath out of candy canes. Cost to make wreath is $10 and all materials are included in the price. Sign up at the Adult Circulation Desk. Money is due when you sign up! Call us at (574) 658-4312 if you have any questions or want to sign up.
Paying Fines
This year the library is trying to not roll over any fines on patron cards. We are asking that if it is within your means, if you could help us by paying off your fines by Wednesday, Dec. 31. If you find it hard to accomplish, feel free to give us a phone call at (574) 658-4312 and we will work out something for you.
Reindeer Visit
Mark your calendars! Arctic Angie, the elf and her reindeer, Olaf will be at the Milford Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17. The library will be staying open late this day so everyone can come and have their picture taken with Olaf and his friends!
Nutrition Program Rescheduled
Pumpkin pie, chocolate chip cookies, grandma’s cheese ball, egg gog … oh so good, but not very healthy.
Join us from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the meeting room for recipes and tips on how to make Healthy Holiday Desserts.
Stephanie Faroh, Purdue extension educator, will be presenting the program and providing sample recipes and nutritional information to take home. Enter a drawing for door prizes when you come. The sign-up sheet will be available at the adult circulation desk. Hope to see you there!
