NLC Releases All-Conference Football Honors
GOSHEN – The loss by Northridge in the IHSAA Class 4-A semi-state to New Prairie Friday night ushered the Northern Lakes Conference officials Monday to release the All-NLC nods in football.
Plymouth, the league champion with a 7-0 round robin record, had 11 named to the list along with conference Coach of the Year, John Barron. Eight Rockies were named to the All-NLC list, three to the Honorable Mention All-NLC list.
Northridge, which lasted the longest in the state tournament with its first-ever run to semi-state, was 5-2 in the NLC and had nine athletes overall, six to the All-NLC list.
Concord, Warsaw and Wawasee all finished 4-3 overall. Concord had six named to the respective lists, Warsaw and Wawasee with seven each.
Making All-NLC for Warsaw were quarterback Jake Mangas, defensive linemen Ben Plummer and Caleb Wooldridge, and wide receiver Riley Rhoades. Honorable Mention All-NLC Tigers were linebacker Dylan Childers, defensive back Ethyn Bradley and kicker Caleb Klusman.
For the Warrior, All-NLC honors went to quarterback Gage Reinhard, running back Nathan Katzer, wide receiver Clayton Cook and wide receiver/defensive back Sam Clark. Honorable Mention tabs were linebacker Stephen Possell, defensive back Kurtis Liston and linebacker Maclain Herr.
NorthWood (3-4) had four total players, Memorial (1-6) with three and Goshen (0-7) with three named.
