Activities for the week of Dec. 1 through Dec. 6:
The Syracuse Library has two craft programs to help with gifting. From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 is a drop-by crafts time for adults. Individuals are invited to bring gifts that are ready to be wrapped. Several crafts are offered and the Accu-cut is available for making several styles of custom bags.
The candy cane candle holder requires preregistration. A limited number will be available at a charge of $2 for those not registered. Plenty of ideas for bags, boxes, and ornaments will be offered. Teens are encouraged to attend during their normally scheduled book club time. Adults are welcome to bring children with them.
Children have the chance to learn a life-long skill while getting ready for the holidays. The children working on holiday gift projects have been meeting on Wednesdays, but through the month of December will meet from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Many projects can be easily completed before Christmas. Everything is provided. The library will continue to use donated yarn to make hats for the homeless after the holidays, and so, continues to accept donations of yarn and knitting needles and crochet hooks.
