Photography Contest

The seventh annual Warsaw Community Public Library Amateur Photography Contest will start Dec. 1. Amateur photographers ages 18 and up may enter up to two photographs that were taken during 2014, in color or black/white categories. Each entry must be framed, and include a wire hanger across the back of the frame or an easel to display the photograph. Mat and glass are optional.

Each entry must be a 5×7 or larger print. All entries must be able to be displayed within the capabilities of the Warsaw Community Public Library.

Photographs must be submitted at the reference desk during library hours, Dec. 1 to Dec. 15. Entries will not be accepted after 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15. Contest rules are available on our web page (www.warsawlibrary.org) or at the reference desk.

Christmas Trivia Quiz

Complete a Christmas trivia quiz for a chance to win a 5 pound Hershey Bar, which you have to see to believe. It is so big!

Quizzes are available at the Reference Desks on the upper level, Dec. 1-20. The winner will be drawn Dec. 22. For all ages.

Other Events and Clubs

Cookbook Club will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1. Bring cookies for the annual cookie exchange.

Make It Take It Crafts will be making holiday ornaments from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 2. Registration is required.

There will be a computer clinic from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3. Bring your computer questions and problems.

Drop in Zone will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4. Ages 13-18 only for video games and a movie.

Off the Shelf Reading Group meets from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Discuss the title “Someone” by Alice McDermott.

Christmas Design Show will be from 6 p.m to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Meet at Anderson Greenhouse for a demonstration on fresh arrangements for Christmas. Registration required.

Chess Club meets at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. Bring your chess game if you have one. All levels are invited to attend.

The Knit & PURL Club meets from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Bring your projects.

Writers Club will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Topics will incude “My Favorite Christmas Gift”, “Snow” and “Oh That Tree”.

It will be question and answer time at the Genealogy Club held at 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Quilt Club meets from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.

Bring your projects to Hooked On Crochet club, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16.

New Release Tuesday meets at 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30. Turtle fun will be had by the whole family. Movie is rated PG-13.
