Area Accident Reports
Elkhart
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
3:57 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, CR 33, south of CR 52, north of Syracuse. Driver: Krystle Barton, 27, Syracuse. Barton complained of neck pain. Also injured were Terry Dove, 31, Syracuse; Tara Dove, 10, Goshen; and Zackery Sizemore, 12, Goshen. Injuries were not listed. All four were taken to IU Health-Goshen for non-life threatening injuries. Barton lost control of her vehicle going off the roadway, overturning and hitting a utility pole. Barton and one passenger were issued citations for seat belt violations.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:17 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, West US 30, east of North 650W. Warsaw. Driver: Karen E. Holland, 30, North Thayer Street, Bourbon. Holland’s vehicle went off the road through the center divider, across the westbound lanes off the road, through tall weeds coming to rest in the swamp. Damage up to $2,500.
5:31 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, East Levi Lee Road and North 100E. Driver. Patricia A. Fulwider, 75, East 700N, Leesburg. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
10:05 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, North CR 850E south of East CR 900N, North Webster. Driver: Kayla M. Rassi 23, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Rassi lost control of her vehicle while going around curve, ran off road, down embankment and into a tree. Damage up to $5,000
6:01 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17. West Monoquet Road, west of North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Nicholas A. Kintzel, 35, West CR 600N, Warsaw and Leo D. Jansen, 52, Tall Oak Trail, Warsaw. Kitzel was stopped in traffic due to another crash, to let other vehicle’s out of a parking lot. Kintzel backed his vehicle to allow space for a vehicle to exit the parking space, hitting the Jansen vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
5:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17. North SR 15, and West CR 400N, Warsaw. Drivers: Stacey L. Beers, 41, West CR 300N, Cromwell; Matthew S. Sherman, 30, North Lake Street, Warsaw; Amber M. Hackworth, 26, West CR 800N, Roann, Sherman complained of pain to the neck. Beers was traveling north on SR 15, looked down for a moment and when she looked up and saw the Sherman vehicle had stopped in the roadway and was attempting to turn west. Beers vehicle struck the back of the Sherman vehicle, which started to spin and struck the side of the Hackworth vehicle. Damage estimated up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:49 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Melissa R. Hall, 43, West Market Street, Columbia City. Hall turned too sharp exiting a parking space and struck the back of another vehicle parallel parked. Damage under $750
4:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Bradley A. Anders, 18, East Market Street, Pierceton. Anders was backing from a parking space and struck a parked vehicle behind him. Damage up to $2,500.
9:29 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, Walton Boulevar, Warsaw. Driver: Mary E. Schneider, 75, East Maple Street, Bremen. Schneider struck a cross walk sign while making a turn. Damage up to $5,000.
