Valley Ladies Roll In Season Hoops Opener
BREMEN – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team got off to a great start to its season Thursday night.
The Vikings dominated from the opening tip en route to defeating host Bremen 71-27 in the season opener for both squads.
Sophomore Anne Secrest led the way for the Vikings with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Coach Chris Kindig’s Valley team led 24-10 after the opening period and held a 39-18 edge at halftime. The Vikings then outscored the Lions by a 20-1 count in the third period of play.
Senior Caylie Teel had 12 points and senior Taylor Trippiedi and sophomore Hannah Dunn each had 10 for the winners.
Junior Karis Tucker netted nine points for the Vikings.
Valley (1-0) plays at Warsaw Nov. 21. Bremen (0-1) plays at Goshen Saturday.
