Grace Spikers Ready For Tourney
WINONA LAKE – After racking up 25 wins in the regular season, the Grace College volleyball team is set for the 2014 Crossroads League Tournament this week.
The Lady Lancers earned the No. 2 seed in the CL Tournament, its best finish in over a decade. As a result, Grace will host seventh-seeded Goshen on Tuesday 7 p.m. With a win over Goshen, the Lady Lancers would host the CL semifinals on Thursday 7 p.m. against either Taylor or St. Francis. The tournament championship will be held on Saturday at the highest seed’s arena.
Grace’s 25-win regular season is the second such achievement since 2002. The Lady Lancers’ 14 wins in the Crossroads League season are tied for the most in program history (2011).
Grace is hoping to earn its third trip to a national tournament in four years under head coach Andria Harshman. If Grace wins the Crossroads League Tournament, the Lady Lancers would earn an automatic bid to NAIA Nationals for the first time since 2001.
Grace has already secured a winning year for the fourth straight season – the first time Grace has had that stretch since 1992-2001.
