Cause Undetermined In Pierceton Feed Mill Fire
An investigation has been completed of the fire that occurred at the Pierceton Feed Mill Thursday, Nov. 6 (see related).
According to Gordon Baker, Chief of the Fire Investigation Team of Kosciusko County, based on the fire investigation conducted at the scene by the Fire Investigation Team, Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the fire appears to have started in a hopper that was being used to process alfalfa into chicken feed.
The fire then spread to the structural members causing extensive damage to the structure and equipment.
Baker noted that due to the extreme amount of damage, the exact cause of the blaze is being ruled as undetermined.
