Workshop On Handling Holiday Stress
Local resident Lynn MacKaben Brown will be offering workshops on how to conquer holiday stress to clubs, organizations, libraries, schools and churches in Kosciusko county. The workshops are free, but there are only two available each week through Dec. 20. Dates and times are negotiable and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis by making emailing [email protected].
“Holiday stress kills joy,” says Brown, a former assistant professor of nursing. “It can also kill you. There is a 5 percent spike in fatal heart attacks during the holiday season. The peak days, in order, are Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. I’d like to help people in the community avoid that family tragedy.”
In the workshops, participants will develop a customized plan to conquer holiday stress. Brown in an R.N., M.A., freelance writer and member of the Noon Toastmasters Club. She is a speaker on health, county history and communication skills and has written the first book of a historical novel series based in Kosciusko county.
