Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, East McKenna Road west of EMS B38 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Debra L. Johnson, 51, East McKenna Road, Warsaw. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000
6:42 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, South SR 15 and West CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: James W. Leeper, 23, North Copeland Street, Warsaw. Leeper’s vehicle struck the tires of a trailer of a semitractor. His vehicle overturned on the roadway. Leeper was not injured. Officers could not locate the semitractor. Damage up to $5,000
6:02 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, North SR 19, Nappanee, Driver: Dewey L. Thompson, 23, Andrea Court, Mishawaka. Thompson nodded off while driving causing his vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic. He steered his vehicle further left, going off the road, through a cornfield and into a yard, hitting a home owned by Ronald A. Ganshorn, 11243 N 900W, Nappanee. The vehicle continued through the yard. A Frontier Communications telephone box was also damaged. Thompson was not injured. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, East Market Street west of South Wood Street, Warsaw. Driver: David A. Potter, 21, East Bridget Lane, Columbia City. Potter’s vehicle went over the curb, into the grass, hitting a speed limit sign and a light pole. The vehicle continued back onto the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
11:09 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, North Tamarack Street north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Storm G. Kinsey, 20, 3529 18 B Road, Tippecanoe, and Travis M. Shively, 34, North Walnut Street, Etna Green. Kinsey’s vehicle struck the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department vehicle driven by Shively. Kinsey was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Damage up to $5,000.
