Vote For Independent Michael Stinfer
Dear Editor,
A cool breath of fresh air came to my door the other day. A lifelong Republican running as an Independent on the ballot, Michael Stinfer, is offering a choice to all those in the District 22.
A United States Marine Corps veteran, Stinfer was deployed with the First Marines in support of the Global War on Terrorism and participated in combat operations in the initial invasion of Iraq. A team leader who fought his way from the Kuwait border through cities like Babylon, up the Euphrates River, to outside of Baghdad.
He’s a Grace College business graduate and is currently taking his Master degree at Grace College in Orthopedic Regulatory. In 2007, he re-enlisted into the military with the Indiana Army National Guard and has volunteered three times to mobilize for the War on Terror.
As a qualified sniper and Airborne Ranger, he has held many leadership positions including reconnaissance team leader, battalion and brigade level operations managing million dollar budgets and leading thousands of men and women during his career.
The proud father of three daughters, Stinfer believes the Second Amendment is vital to a free nation and a prosperous Indiana.
“We will not compromise that. We have a right as Hoosier gun owners to uphold the Second Amendment with personal responsibility and pass this on to the next generation,” says Stinfer.
Indiana has previously spent 60 percent of the budget on education but that healthcare will require 60 percent in 2015 as the Obamacare is implemented.
“That means we have to take a hard look at where we are spending and get creative to ensure the education of our children does not suffer.” He says it will take a lot of teamwork and creative solutions, but Indiana’s well-being and future depends on youth and how they are educated.
Healthcare will overtake the majority of the budget in 2015 and Stinfer believes we must focus on prevention and wellness to keep healthcare costs down.
Stinfer is also concerned about the Indiana farmer and has set a goal to make the Indiana farmer a success by enhancing farming capabilities to meet demands of a growing population. “We will deliver facts clearly, which are often misrepresented by government agencies and we will continue to give our farmers the available tools to help be the providers they have chosen to be.”
The current Indiana fiscal surplus will also be an important issue for Stinfer.
“I will be a strong voice on the house floor to keep Indiana on track. I believe we can do this by making sure we continue making proactive decisions to cut wasteful spending when it doesn’t maximize Indiana’s return on investment. We must be accountable by being tough on spending to keep our taxes low and more money in the pockets of hard working Hoosiers,” says Stinfer.
Running on a Pro-Life, faith-based platform, Stinfer promises to be a strong supporter on the issues. “I believe strongly in the purity of life and will be a strong and consistent supporter of pro-life issues in Indianapolis. I am committed to protecting the lives of the unborn and will support all efforts to provide full and proper counseling services to mothers and fathers.”
Fighting for the Hoosier Service members and Veterans, Stinfer says that veterans have the highest unemployment rates, highest homeless rates and highest divorce rates in this country.
“That is unacceptable,” said Stinfer. “I will defend them and be a strong voice that continues to lead commonsense policy to give our men and women in uniform all the available tools for success.”
I have been a dedicated voter for more than 48 years and rarely have I seen a candidate with more integrity, candor, honesty and human compassion than Stinfer. Want to build the middle class? Let’s elect the middle class man! I urge Kosciusko voters to consider supporting Stinfer as our next State Representative.
