Initial report: New Paris Fire Department requested a full assist from Milford Fire Department along with tankers from Leesburg and Turkey Creek fire territories at a structure fire this morning.
The local agencies responded to a multiple alarm fire at Better Way Products Plant 2 on CR 23, between US 6 and CR 50, New Paris. Fire departments from at least five other agencies have also been called in.
The initial call was around 2 a.m. Shortly after 3 a.m. the additional manpower was requested. The fire was brought under control at 6:35 a.m.
Tankers are being refilled approximately one-fourth of a mile away at an irrigation well, at New Paris Fire Station and New Paris Elementary School.
Warsaw Fire Department has been put on standby for the Milford and Leesburg departments.
