Well Done Tippecanoe Valley Schools
Dear Editor,
I am a resident of the Tippecane Valley School Corporation and interested in the political process, so Monday evening I attended the School Board Candidate Forum.
I am currently working to get Curt Nisly elected as State Representative. Last week, I attended a candidate’s forum in Warsaw that was held by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and a local newspaper which hosted candidates for Representative of Indiana House District 22 as well as candidates for Kosciusko County Sheriff and County Council.
Frankly, the forum for Tippecanoe Valley School Board candidates was nearly as well attended, and in my opinion was more professional enacted. This forum was put on by Tippecanoe Valley High School students from the government – political science classes.
I am told that the class is taught by Jeff Shriver and June Yazel who should be commended for leading the sudents in such a wonderful project.
The class did such a fantastic job of advertising the event, enlisting the help of Tim Keaffaber of WRSW radio to moderate, posing pertinent questions, making introductions, handling logistics, and hosting this fantastic event.
In my mind, there are two clear winners – the voters and the students.
Thanks for your service to the community, kids. Job well done!
