Warriors Shut Down Redskins
GOSHEN – It was a send-off to remember for the Wawasee JV football team. In its final game of the season, the Warriors got an all-around effort in defeating Goshen 27-7 Saturday morning at Foreman Field.
Michael Katzer had 132 yards rushing and scored twice and Kolin Bell added two rushing touchdowns to bolster the Warrior offense.
Defensively, Jeff Bartman made seven tackles and had a fumble recovery. Rylan Kuhn added five tackles and picked off a pass.
“It feels good to finish the season strong with back-to-back wins,” said Wawasee coach Brent Berkeypile, noting the wins over Goshen and Memorial. “This is a great group of kids who make coaching this game so much fun.”
Wawasee closes out its JV season 5-3-1 overall and 3-3-1 in Northern Lakes Conference games.
