Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
8:43 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, SR 13 near 800 North, North Webster. Driver: Crystal D. Gilbert, 30, Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $5,000
1:47 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 250 East near US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Jose A. Nunez, 40, Glad Street, Warsaw; Scott L. Stanley, 46, Perry Street, Warsaw. Nunez was trying to turn left and collided with Stanley. Damages: up to $2,500
6:17 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, West Shilling Road, east of South CR 900W, Mentone. Driver: Brent A. Blackburn, 23, West Shilling Road, Mentone. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:02 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, SR 13 south of Ryerson Road, Pierceton. Drivers: Ricky Jefferson, 55, Hammontree Street, Larwill and MJ Sasser, 70, Marine Dr., Anderson. Jefferson pulled into the path of Sasser’s vehicle. Anderson complained of pain to the upper body and head area but refused EMS. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, North Huntington Street and East Pearl Street, Syracuse, Drivers: Jordan W. Robinson, 17, East McKenna Road, Warsaw, and April I. Hostetler, 59, Regina Road, New Paris. Robinson turned in front of the Hostetler vehicle. Hostetler complained of chest pain and was transported to IU Health Goshen. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, Detroit Street and Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Ronald L. Miller, 71, Ruby Court, Goshen; Sheila A. Juarez, 18, Center Street, Warsaw. Miller and Juarez collided in the intersection (see related). Damages: up to $10,000
3:28 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, Parker Street near Oriole Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Wyatt T. Slone, 17, Saint Mary’s Drive, Warsaw; Diana M. Kehler, 71, Pike Street, Warsaw. Slone rear-ended Kehler. Damages: up to $2,500
12:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Kayla M. Anderson, 24, Frontage Road, Warsaw. Anderson drove a U-Haul truck under a drive-thru overhang, hitting the overhang and drove off. Anderson stated she was scared and did not know what to do. A charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident was sent to the prosecutor’s office. Damage up to $5,000.
9:56 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, Lake City Highway, at mile marker 93, Warsaw. Casey E. Brandenburg, 23, Hauenstein Road, Huntington, and Julie K. Robinson, 43, East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Brandenburg’s vehicle struck the side of Robinson’s vehicle during a lane change. Damage up to $5,000.
8:02 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, East Center Street, west of North Harrison Street, Warsaw. Driver: Mohit Baya, 26, North Sandcastle Drive, Warsaw. Baya stated he suffered a sharp pain in his lower back while driving, turned his body to put his hand on the pain area at which time the vehicle went off the road, over a curb and hit a No Parking sign. He left the scene stating he was scared and did not know what to do. A charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident was sent to the prosecutor’s office. Damage up to $5,000.
4:53 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, East Center Street. Trucilla A. McCloud Westfie, Fort Wayne, reported her vehicle was sideswiped while parked either at Owens East or McDonald’s East earlier in the day. Damage up to $5,000.
3:53 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, South Buffalo Street, south of East Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: William R. Dues, 27, E. Diamond St., Kendallvillle and Kristin S. Shriver, 49, E. SR 114, Akron. Dues was driving out of a parking space and did not see the Shriver vehicle which had just turned the corner. Damage up to $1,000.
