Grace Goalie Schue Saluted
WINONA LAKE – Grace College freshman goalkeeper Abby Schue picked up her first national award as the NCCAA Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Schue, a former Warsaw Tiger, made 10 saves for the week against two Top 25 ranked opponents. She had a shutout against then-No. 21 Mt. Vernon Nazarene and nearly shut out No. 10 Spring Arbor, holding the Cougars scoreless for the first 82 minutes of regulation.
As a result of Grace’s week, the Lady Lancers made their first appearance in the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll on Tuesday at No. 22 in the nation.
