Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
12:22 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, West CR 400N, west of Wallace Road, Warsaw. Driver: Bethany C. Shively, 23, North County Line Road, Etna Green. Hit deer. Damage up to $10,000.
8:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, South CR 1000W, north of CR 900S, Akron. Driver: Jennifer L. Gast, 61, South Pine Street, Akron. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, East CR 1300S, east of South Packerton Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Jamie L. France, 39, East CR 1500N, North Manchester. Damage up to $2,500.
5:33 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, West CR 1350N, east of North CR 600W, Nappanee. Driver: David R. Hochstetler, 22, Sixth Road, Bourbon. Hochstetler fell asleep while driving, causing his vehicle to go off the roadway into a bean field owned by Jesse E. Berger, North CR 600W, Nappanee. Damage up to $5,000.
4:06 a.m. West SR 25, west of South CR 1200W. Driver: Daniel D. Newbolds, 32, Berkley Street, Pierceton. Deer hit. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw Police
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:42 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, South Detroit Street and East Winona Avenue. Drivers: William James Kerr, 72, Gresham, Oregon and Jeremy McCord, 37, Ash Drive, Elkhart. Kerr backed his vehicle to switch traffic lanes and struck the McCord vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
7:36 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, Lake City Highway west of South Circle Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Duane A. Strasser, 31, North Morton Street, Laketon and Michael L. Scott, 43, North Lexington Drive, Columbia City. Strasser’s vehicle struck the back of the Scott vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:19 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, West Winona Avenue and South Harding Street. Drivers: William R. Newton, 17, East Pontiac Drive, Warsaw and Kendra R. Burns, 16, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Newton backed into the Burns vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
