Rain Alters Tennis Schedule
CULVER – The inclement weather that rolled through Marshall County Tuesday changed the game plan for several area tennis players.
Due to the team regional matches having to be moved indoors Tuesday night at Culver Academies, the individual No. 1 singles and doubles match were rescheduled for Wednesday.
The Wawasee No. 1 doubles team of Nate Haines and Jake Hutchinson are now scheduled to play Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Culver Academies. They will face the Knox team of Tyler Simola-Wallingford and Jacob Albon.
The winner of that match will return to Culver on Thursday at 5 p.m. to play the Manchester top doubles team of Brandon Scott and Noah Cain.
Triton senior Jared Fisher will face Hunter Gilbert of Knox in No. 1 singles play Wednesday also at 5 p.m. at the Academies.
Warsaw senior Sam Rice will face the winner of the Fisher-Gilbert match on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Culver. Rice defeated Plymouth’s John Hunter 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) Tuesday night in the team regional play to extend his season.
