The Matchsellers Returning to Warsaw, New Album
When we last heard from The Matchsellers – the bluegrass duo of Andrew Morris and Julie Bates – they were leaving Kosciusko County to spend some time in Bates’ native Kansas City, Mo., then departing on an extensive tour around the country.
The group is still out busking their way around the US, but they’ve just added a stop in Warsaw. On Dec. 27, The Matchsellers will be at Tourmaline.
Additionally, the show will celebrate the release of the band’s debut album, “Kosciusko County.” Many of the songs on the record were, at least in part, inspired by Morris’s upbringing in northern Indiana. Take, for example, the just-released video above of “Claypool Dog Race.”
When The Matchsellers return to Kosciusko County, they will be joined by 2014 National Mandolin Champion Ethan Setiawan from Middlebury and banjoist Jeff Wise from Bargersville. There are only 60 seats available for the event, and tickets are going fast.
Tickets can be purchased at www.picatic.com/KosciuskoCounty.
