In this day and age, with our economy the way it is, most people are looking for affordable entertainment as well as bargains. Where better to find entertainment and bargains than at Warsaw Community Public Library’s October book sale? The library has been providing book sales for the public for several years now and it has become quite popular among the people in the surrounding Kosciusko area.
Those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of attending one of our book sales might be asking yourself what’s all the hullabaloo? I am here to share with you all the great new and used items our book sales have to offer!
The Warsaw Community Public Library book sales can be a dream come true for both library supporters as well as book lovers. For book lovers, each sale offers an instant expansion of your collection of cookbooks, mystery novels, or gardening how-to’s for just a few dollars. Children and teachers can walk away with bags full of children’s books for a little as 25 cents per book. Movie buffs can peruse our video collection and find DVDs for $1 each. Where can you get a better bargain?
How can we offer such deals? Most of our book sales feature items that have been discarded from the library catalog as well as donations made to the library by people who want to give back to our community. The library book sales are good for the earth as well as good for helping our residents save money. Recycling items instead of throwing them away assists in helping our community stay environmentally friendly.
Do you have a collection of books that you no longer want or need and that is just sitting around collecting dust but you don’t want to toss them in the trash? Why not donate them to the library and allow a fellow reader to enjoy them? We accept most books except for encyclopedias that are older than 10 years and books that may be damaged and falling apart.
Our last book sale of the year will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in two locations – meeting room A/B and the book sale room. Come get a good book and support the library! You never know what you will find. You might find something that will change your thinking or perhaps even change your life!
