WARSAW – The Warsaw boys soccer team closed out regular season play Thursday night on the short end of a 5-0 decision to Northridge.
The visiting Raiders got a pair of goals from Brandon Nixon to blank the Tigers in the Northern Lakes Conference finale.
Northridge took a 2-0 lead at halftime of the league tussle after goals by Hunter Hardin and Bailey Kaplan.
Elliott Laughlin scored just two minutes into the second half for the Raiders to make it 3-0. Nixon then scored his first tally shortly after to make it 4-0 and then added a final goal for the 5-0 final.
The Warsaw varsity squad closes out regular season action at 7-4-5 overall and wraps up NLC play at 3-3-1.
The Tigers will face Culver Academies on Monday at 6 p.m. in the opening contest of the Class 2-A Plymouth Sectional.
The Warsaw junior varsity team picked up a 4-1 win over the Raiders Thursday night. Edward Esqueda had two goals and Eduardo Calderon and Thomas Rivera each had one for the winners, who finish with a 6-5-2 record.
