KCCF Receives Lilly Endowment Grant Challenge
Kosciusko County Community Foundation recently received approval from Lilly Endowment Inc. to participate in their GIFT VI initiative.
Also known as Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow, the GIFT VI initiative will match every dollar donated to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s “Bring it Home” campaign. Dollars contributed to the Bring it Home campaign will go to the Community Fund, and will be matched by Lilly Endowment, up to $1 million. When the challenge is successfully met, $2 million ($1 million from local donors and $1 million matched by Lilly Endowment) will be permanently invested to meet the needs of Kosciusko County residents.
Community Funds are those that provide funding for grant awards to programs that support victims of abuse or violence, feed and shelter people in need, provide childcare, impact environment, build trails and recreational projects, encourage educational as well as arts and cultural experiences and so much more – right here in Kosciusko County.
The deadline for the Community Foundation to reach its $1 million local fundraising goal is March 31, 2016. Matching dollars will be endowed on a first given, first matched basis.
