Miller Benefit A Big Success
FORT WAYNE – Former NBA star and former Little Brother, Brad Miller, hosted the 11th Annual Brad Miller Gala, Auction, and Golf Outing to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The two-part event began on Saturday, August 23, 2014 with a Gala and Auction held at the Memorial Coliseum, followed by a golf outing at Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville Monday, August 25, 2014.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud to announce the event raised more than $393,000 for the organization and its programs.
More than 800 community members came together to support Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout the 11th Annual Brad Miller Gala, Auction and Golf Outing.
The auction included over 300 items that sent a number of guests home with special winnings from the evening. Among the bigger items auctioned off include a “Painting from David Garibaldi,” “Hunting Trip with Brad,” “Turks & Caicos trip”, and a “Las Vegas Trip.”
Just a few days later, the golf outing teed off with 29 teams in the morning and maxed out 36 teams in the afternoon. At the end of play, it was the team from Aegis Sales & Engineering Inc, in Fort Wayne, Ind. that had the best score of the day.
In 1985, eight-year-old Brad was matched with Big Brother Dewey in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentoring program. Although their official match in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program ended when Brad turned 18 years old, their relationship remains strong as Brad’s basketball career advanced him from East Noble High School to Purdue University to the NBA to Television.
