Man Arrested For Assaulting An Officer
Brett Allen Bradley, 29, 312 N. Broadway St., Mentone, has been arrested on battery of a law enforcement officer, level 6 felony and disorderly conduct, from an event stemming from Sept. 8, at 123 Sophie Lane, Warsaw.
He is being held on $2,000 surety bond for these charges.
The affidavit of probable cause states Warsaw Police were called to the Sophie Lane, Warsaw, when Bradley became physical with a female.
Police located Bradley and discovered he smelled of alcohol and had possibly overdosed on prescription medication. A portable breath test was given with a result of .186 percent. For his own safety he was taken by paramedics to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
While being examined at KCH Bradley became verbally abusive with the doctor. When the officer went into the examining room to ask him to be quiet and to watch his language, he voiced vulgar language to the officer and started to get up off the bed, heading towards the officer.
It was at this time the officer placed his hand sturdily on Bradley’s shoulder to move him back towards the bed. Bradley struck the officer on the chin with a closed fist.
The affidavit states while Bradley was being treated for a drug overdose with activated charcoal, he threw one of the two cups of required medication required to be taken on the emergency room floor, a privacy curtain, X-ray viewer, walls, cabinetry and glass window, leaving a stain hard to remove.
