Fort Wayne Hosts Architects Convention
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, the 2014 American Institute of Architects Indiana + Kentucky Convention will meet at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in downtown Fort Wayne.
For 3 days, more than 200 architects will participate in several informational workshops, discussions with industry professionals, and explore our city’s architecture, attractions, and rivers.
On Oct. 2, the group will listen to a presentation from the SWA Group on Fort Wayne’s Downtown Riverfront Development Study, followed by a DesignSlam welcome party at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art at 7:30 p.m.
The next day, Bryan Bell of Bryan Bell Architecture/Design Corps based in Raleigh, North Carolina, will present the keynote speech. After additional breakout sessions, the group will head over to Parkview Field for a T.G.I.F celebration.
Before leaving our city, a group of architects will venture around downtown and learn about Fort Wayne’s historic buildings and landmarks on Saturday.
