Edgewood, Lakeview Bands Kicking Off The Year
The Edgewood and Lakeview Bands have had a fantastic start to the new school year. Although Warsaw students have only attended school for approximately 40 days, the sightings of the Edgewood and Lakeview Middle School Bands have been numerous.
Their first performance was at a middle school football game on Sept. 9. The students prepared several pep band songs that were exciting to perform as well as creating a fun atmosphere for school spirit.
“I like band because it helps me relax and is something fun to enjoy with my family,” states Thad Harges, seventh grade band student. “We plan to have our pep band perform at upcoming sporting events throughout the year,” stated Joseph Peloza, middle school band director.
The middle school bands also had the opportunity to perform at pre-game of the homecoming football game on Sept. 12. The band students were able to participate in the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner with the high school band. “It was a wonderful evening to watch the students having a great time and enjoying themselves. They looked and sounded fantastic,” stated Peloza.
Upcoming events for the Middle School Bands include a beginning band concert 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Lakeview Auditorium and at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 Veteran’s Day performance by the combined advanced bands from Edgewood and Lakeview in the Lakeview gymnasium. Mr. Peloza and the students would like to thank all the people that help support the band through their recent fundraiser.
