Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, Sept. 20, 4:48 a.m. unknown, Warsaw. Driver: Amy E. Butler, 48, Packerton Road, Warsaw. Butler reported that she became distracted by a speeding motorist, drove off the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Butler reported the accident from her home. Officers observed the car and found the front end damage to be characteristic of a collision with a utility pole. However, officers were unable to locate a damaged utility pole or tire tracks in the area that Butler said the crash had occurred. Damages: up to $25,000
Saturday, Sept. 20, 3:37 a.m. US 30 near 450 East, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher W. Kelso, 44, Bluff Street, Lockport, Ill. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, Sept. 20, 3:12 a.m. Fox Farm Road near Sellers Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Justin D. Yoder, 29, Westerner Winds Drive, Warsaw. Yoder lost control of his vehicle, ran off the road and struck a utility pole. The vehicle was found stuck in a culvert at the roadside. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the accident, and Yoder was arrested. Damages: up to $1,000
North Webster Police Department
Officers of the North Webster Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Saturday, Sept. 20, 5:25 p.m. Main Street near Washington Street, North Webster. Driver: Zeth A. Begley, 25, Albert Eckert Drive, North Webster. Begley bumped a bicyclist at a traffic light. No report of injuries. Damages: under $750
Syracuse Police Department
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, Sept. 20, 10:40 a.m. Huntington Street near Maple Grove, Syracuse. Drivers: Lyle D. Burtsfield, 81, CR 44, Goshen; David J. McIlwain, 67, Brooklyn Street, Syracuse. Burtsfield failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, resulting in a collision. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, Sept. 21, 10:05 a.m. 1800 block of County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Jesse D. McKinley, 34, Western Drive, Winona Lake. McKinley struck a parked vehicle registered to Jaime Montelongo of Mentone. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, Sept. 20, 12:32 p.m. Lake Street near Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Cymberlee S. Braden, 22, 175 East, Warsaw; Keith T. Dailey, 45, Wausau Street, Warsaw. Braden pulled out in front of Dailey, resulting in a collision. Braden was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, Sept. 20, 12:05 p.m. Detroit Street near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Bonnie J. Evans, 79, Arthur Street, Warsaw; James G. Laborde, 23, Central Park Drive, Plainfield; Larry E. Cassel, 65, Poppy Street, Warsaw. Evans and Laborde collided in the intersection. The impact resulted in a collision between Cassel’s vehicle and Laborde’s vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000
Friday, Sept. 19, 11:50 a.m. 3500 block of Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Ryan M. Garrison, 22, McKenna Road, Warsaw. Garrison struck the side of Warsaw Deli Mart while backing out of a parking space. Garrison reported he did not see any damage to the building and did not report the accident. He was cited with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Sept. 19, 8:40 a.m. Lake City Highway near Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Annette L. Decot, 34, Randolph Street, Huntington; Ghazanfar A. Khan, 35, Shallowbrook Drive, Fort Wayne. Decot rear-ended Khan. Damages: up to $10,000
