Viviana Arias, 28, of 1692 E. CR 200N, Warsaw, is reportedly in serious, but stable, condition tonight at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after suffering multiple stab wounds.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Arias was transported to KCH by Multi-Township EMS after suffering defensive lacerations on her arms, as well as a puncture wound to her cheek/facial area.
Police are still looking for her assailant, Avundio Lozano, 35, who fled the scene. Lozano is reportedly the husband of Arias.
Events of the evening began at 5:47 p.m. when KCSD deputies were called to Green Acres Mobile Home Park on a report of a stabbing. At the scene, emergency personnel and officers met with Aries who informed police the suspect was allegedly Lozano.
Lozano had left the scene, prior to police arrival, in the couple’s white Toyota four-door vehicle with Illinois license plates. He was last seen northbound on CR 175E. Police converged on the area in an attempt to locate Lozano. Though the vehicle was located a short time later in Leesburg, it was found unoccupied.
The initial investigation has determined Arias and Lozano had entered into a verbal argument which escalated inside their mobile home. Lozano obtained a kitchen style knife shortly afterwards and began to stab at his wife.
Individuals with information related to the whereabouts of Lozano are asked to call either the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 267-5667 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 342-STOP.
