Firstsource Bank, Local Attorneys Offering Free Council
1st Source Bank has partnered with local attorneys and non-profit groups to offer the public free confidential consultations and simple wills if the wills include one or more charitable bequests. Attorneys will provide these services by appointment, Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, at five sites throughout Warsaw.
The service is provided through Legacy Partners, an initiative of 1st Source Bank, in partnership with local attorneys and non-profit groups to provide valuable estate planning services and information to the public. Anyone who currently does not have a will and wishes to make one that includes at least one charitable bequest is encouraged to take advantage of this free service.
“Most Americans don’t have a will at the time of their death,” explains Rob Patrick, vice president and trust officer with 1st Source Bank. “When that happens, the courts make decisions for you and distribute your estate. We’ve organized this event to help people plan for the future and make a charitable gift that can have a lasting impact on the community.”
Several community organizations have partnered on this initiative, including the Salvation Army, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Cardinal Services, Fellowship Missions and Kosciusko Community YMCA. Volunteer legal services are being provided by attorneys Laura Kaufman, Patti Taylor, James S. Butts, Stan Pequignot, Jim Walmer, Doug Lemon, Tammy Keirn and Chris Kehler.
Appointments can be made by calling any of the participating non-profit organizations.
