Another Successful Family Safety Day
Throngs of families flocked to Central Park in Warsaw on Saturday, Sept. 13, for the seventh annual Family Safety Day. There were fun demonstrations for kids addressing bike safety, fire safety, stranger danger, electrical safety, water safety, first aid – just to name a few.
The Kosciusko Community YMCA sponsored a 5K Run for Fun and 1-mile Youth Fun Run. Kosciusko Community Hospital hosted several children’s activities, including a gummy worm ‘surgery’ station.
Warsaw Police Department set up a bicycle rodeo to teach kiddos bike safety. Sponsor Kosciusko REMC’s bucket truck rides seemed to be quite popular.
Several organizations were present offering free health services, like ultrasounds, blood pressure checks and cholesterol checks. Safe Assured was on site with kids’ ID kits.
There was a demonstration of police dogs. Both a Parkview Samaritan helicopter and a Lutheran Air helicopter landed in the park.
These are just a few of the interesting things experience at Family Safety Day this afternoon. For those who couldn’t make it out, check out the video above for a glimpse at all the fun and educational activities.
