Valley Middle School Sports Wrap
It’s been a busy week for athletes at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School.
The volleyball teams went 3-1 in action versus North Miami Tuesday night.
The 7th grade A team won 25-12, 25-8. Aleah Cole had 10 aces and Ally Betten eight. Caleigh Byrer and Emily Murphy led Valley in assists. Also noted for their play were Allison Miller and Mckenzie Woodcox.
The 7th grade B team lost 25-8. Cited for top play were Kaitlyn Lewis, Alexis Michael, Shakira Vail, Amy Baca and Valeria Jimenez.
The 8th grade A team won 25-14, 17-25, 15-9. Shayleigh Shriver had 10 aces, Hannah Jansma three aces and a block and Sophie Bussard six kills and two blocks.
The 8th grade B team won 25-24. Mckenna Bradley had three aces.
The Valley football teams split with Manchester on Tuesday.
Manchester won the 8th grade game 24-6. Wes Melanson led Valley with 153 total yards and Noah Miller had a touchdown.
Valley won the 7th grade contest 22-0. Jaydin Conley had two touchdowns and 146 total yards for the winners.
The Valley girls cross country team finished fourth out of 11 teams in the Caston Invitational on Saturday.
Haley Hoover led Valley by placing 11th overall in a time of 13:30. Taylor Gunter was 14th in 13:37, followed by Ava Craig in 22nd (14:17), Alyssa Bell in 42nd (15:02), Lauren Sponseller in 44th (15:07), Lorena Sponseller in 50th (15:16), Gabby Olson in 52nd (15:18), Bethany Johnson in 73rd (16:39), Justine Clingerman in 91st (19:17) and Taylor Biddle in 100th (26:47).
The Valley boys cross country team finished in 10th place out of 14 teams at Caston.
Colt Demske led the team by placing 36th individually. Evan Lowman was 47th, followed by Layne Prater in 78th (14:55), Payton Mills in 90th (15:37), Dakota Snapp in 92nd (15:50), Chris Hurd in 105th (16:24), Hunter Pacely in 109th (16:41) and Jeremy Landis in 130th (20:21).
