Grace Middle Of Road In Polls
WINONA LAKE – Following a fourth-place finish in the 2013-14 season, Grace’s women’s basketball team was predicted to repeat as the fourth-best team in the Crossroads League preseason poll.
The poll, taken by the women’s basketball head coaches of the Crossroads League, was released at the inaugural CL basketball media day on Monday from the campus of Huntington University.
Additionally, Grace’s Allison Kauffman was named Preseason First Team All-League along with Brooke Ridley (St. Francis), Akyah Taylor (St. Francis), Emma Stahl (Indiana Wesleyan) and Amelia Recker (Huntington).
Indiana Wesleyan was the preseason choice to win the league, followed by Huntington, St. Francis, Grace, Marian, Taylor, Bethel, Mt. Vernon Nazarene, Spring Arbor and Goshen in order.
Grace’s men’s basketball team was picked fifth in the Crossroads League preseason poll.
The Lancers were the runners-up in the 2014 Crossroads League Tournament and the 2014 NCCAA National Championships and finished the season with a mark of 20-15.
