WCPL on Facebook
By Duane Herendeen Children's Department Supervisor
In today’s busy world, it seems there are so many resources we can utilize to keep track of events and information. Depending on how quickly you want to receive the information, what form you want to receive it in, and how often you want to be notified about information, it can be overwhelming at times. At the moment, the Children’s Department at the Warsaw Community Public Library is focusing on informing our patrons of upcoming events, new items in the collection, and interesting information through our Facebook page, “WCPL’s Kids Corner”, and through the library’s website, www.warsawlibrary.org. You can also check out the library’s main Facebook page, “Warsaw Community Public Library”.
By clicking the “Like” button on our Facebook page, “WCPL’s Kids Corner”, you’ll start to receive our postings on a daily basis. On our page we showcase upcoming events with descriptions of what the program will be, when it will be, and if you need to register in advance. You’ll be the first to see new items as they’re added to the collection. From mysteries to audiobooks, everyday you’ll see something new. Because the Children’s Department is for the children, we love showcasing the artwork, schoolwork, or other achievements our young readers accomplish. Every month we post a photo album of all the great creations that were assembled at our monthly LEGO Club. You might just see your child standing proudly beside their LEGO masterpiece. Did you ever wonder who won that last contest your child entered at the library? By following our Facebook page, you’ll see photographs of the winners and what they won. You’ll even see some do-it-yourself ideas that you might find interesting enough to try on your own.
However you decide to get your information about the things going on in the Children’s Department at the Warsaw Community Public Library, we encourage you to check the library’s website, www.warsawlibrary.org , and see all the resources we offer there. There are newsletters you can sign up for, databases to explore, an event calendar, links to interesting websites, and so much more. Now that you know how to keep informed, don’t forget to keep those children reading!
