Redskins Keep Warriors Reeling
After moving to 3-3 on the season just a week ago, Wawasee’s boys tennis team has fallen on hard times.
Goshen beat Wawasee 5-0 Tuesday in Syracuse to run Wawasee’s losing streak to five games.
The visitors were sharp, not giving up more than two games the entire spread. Hudson Kay led the charge at one singles with a one and love win over Cal Heinisch and Luke Rush was about as good, defeating Nate Haines one and one at three singles. Evan Beck completed the singles parade at No. 2 with a two and love run on Nate Perek.
Brothers Troyer, Logan and Zach, steamrolled Jake Hutchinson and Todd Hauser love and one at one doubles while Peter Vukovich and Andrew Vetter posted the same score at two doubles against Brayton Fretz and Leonard Kline.
All five JV courts also went to Goshen, the closest court going 8-5 to Dirk Oyer over Evan Krueger.
Wawasee (3-8, 0-3 NLC) will look to turn around its NLC woes when it visits Northridge Thursday.
