Valley Middle School Sports Wrap
The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School football teams collected a pair of wins Tuesday evening.
The Valley 7th grade team defeated Whitko 44-0. Dakota Gaff rushed for 108 yards and scored two touchdowns for the winners. Jace Potter also had two touchdowns for Valley and Zach Landis and Tanner Trippiedi each had one.
The Valley 8th grade team blanked Whitko 14-0. Wes Melanson had 104 yards rushing with a touchdown to go with an interception and a fumble recovery for Valley. Alex Morris rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown and Cam Parker forced a fumble for the winners.
The Valley 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams each lost to NorthWood. NorthWood won the 8th grade match 25-13, 25-24. Olivia Ellenwood had four aces and Sarah Myers three assists for the Valley 8th grade team. NorthWood won the 7th grade match 25-8, 25-13.
The Valley cross country teams competed in the Northfield Invitational Aug. 30.
Haley Hoover led the girls’ team by placing seventh with a time of 15:03. Ava Craig was 20th for Valley in a time of 15:59, with Alyssa Bell 27th (16:36), Lauren Sponseller 28th (16:37), Lorena Santiago 30th (16:44), Bethany Johnson 40th (17:49) and Karma Stiles 45th (18:34). Kinzie Prater (18:48), Justice Clingerman (21:50), Daytona Cooper (22:51) and Taylor Biddle (32:01) also competed for Valley.
Colt Demske placed 24th in the boys’ race in a time of 14:15 to lead Valley. Evan Lowman was 25th in a time of 14:21, with Layne Prater 36th (16:59), Payton Mills 38th (17:55) and Hunter Pacely 39th (18:21).
