Warsaw Frosh Run Wild In Win
WARSAW – The Warsaw freshman football team started off its season in a big way Tuesday night.
The host Tigers ran past Columbia City for a 39-0 victory.
Will McGarvey led the way with a monster rushing game for the Tigers. McGarvey ran for 341 yards on 18 carries and found the end zone for five touchdowns.
The Tigers rushed for 429 yards in the season-opening victory.
Zach Riley fired a 65-yard touchdown toss to Jack Tucker for the Tigers. Luke Delp was 4-6 passing for 40 yards in the win.
Leytan Perry paced the winning defense in the shutout with nine tackles. Lana McClone had eight stops and Daniel Deanties six.
Warsaw (1-0) hosts East Noble on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
