Trojans Post Pair Of Tennis Wins
MISHAWAKA – The Triton boys tennis team turned in a strong effort Saturday to collect a pair of wins.
The Trojans easily handled South Bend Adams 5-0 and then rallied to top host Mishawaka Marian 4-1.
Jared Fisher led the way at the top of the singles lineup for Triton. Fisher won in straight sets against Adams and then rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 win in his match versus Marian.
Gavin Eads also collected a pair of wins on the day at No. 2 singles. Eads won both of his matches in straight sets.
The Trojans’ two doubles teams both went 2-0. The No. 1 duo of Austin Sellers and Spencer Glingle beat Adams in straight sets and then rallied to top Marian 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. The No. 2 team of Ben Waggoner and Dalton Bailey also beat the Eagles in two sets and topped the hosts 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Mace Eads won at No. 3 singles in straight sets for Triton versus Adams.
Triton returns to Marian for a single match versus the Knights on Tuesday.
