DNR Holding Recruiting Event
Indiana Conservation Officers of operational District 1, which serves north central Indiana, are holding a recruiting event to be held at Mississinewa Reservoir. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.
The group will be meeting at the Miami State Recreation Area campground pavilion. The Miami State Recreation Area is located in Miami County at the intersection of CR 500 South and CR 625 East. You may take CR 500 South east from U.S. 31 to CR 625 East then turn north into the recreation area.
Attendees should bring with them a lunch with plenty of water, workout clothing and a change of clothes, towel, notepad and lots of questions for the officers in attendance to answer and discuss. The event will consist of a briefing on the DNR’s hiring process, including important dates and deadlines to remember as you progress through the hiring process, as well as an optional run and workout with the officers.
Attendees are encouraged to plan to participate in the run and workout as this will help you prepare your personal workout regimen as you condition yourself for the recruit training.
Officers will also discuss job duties and responsibilities and what to expect from the amazing career of an Indiana Conservation Officer. Attendees should sign in at the main gate. We also ask that you RSVP to Officer Jerry Hoerdt at [email protected] and provide your name, telephone number, and your primary email account to confirm your intent to attend the event.
If you have not already registered yourself with our recruiting website, please do so by searching “Becoming a Conservation Officer” and adding or updating your contact information into the “Stay in Touch” screen on the page. The event will be held rain or shine.
District One serves the counties of Wabash, Miami, Fulton, Marshall, Kosciusko, Elkhart and St. Joseph.
