News From North Webster Public Library
NORTH WEBSTER, IN – Plans are underway for the library’s eighth annual North Webster Cemetery Walk on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Leaving from the library every 15 minutes, groups will be guided through the North Webster Cemetery where costumed enactors portray historical persons buried there. This year the Cemetery Walk will include free entertainment by two musicians.
Sarah Tuttle’s sweet voice will accompany her guitar as she performs inside the library for patrons before and after their tours. Saxophonist Charles Cotton will provide an enchanting musical backdrop of gospel and military music in the cemetery as patrons go through the Cemetery Walk.
Author Richard Rose will also be at the library with his new book The Lazarus Conspiracies. The North Webster Cemetery Walk is a free living history event open to the public. No library card is needed to attend. It’s also a great educational experience for students to learn about local history.
The program for Lose It At The Library at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, will be a YouTube video on the 10 worst “health” foods. Come to this free weekly weight loss support program and learn how to safely and effectively lose weight while encouraging each other towards your goals. Lose It At The Library meets every Monday evening at 5:30 p.m.
It will be a corny good time at Revolving Recipe Round-Up the next day on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. when this group of foodies brings in and shares delicious dishes made with corn and the recipes. Meeting the fourth Tuesday each month, Revolving Recipe Round-Up focuses on a different kind of food each month. The library provides the table service along with free coffee and bottled water. The group provides the food and fellowship. Start cooking and join us!
It’s Family Movie Night at the library on Thursday, Aug. 28. The show starts at 5 p.m. with free popcorn for everyone. Showing is a Disney musical comedy about a famous group of puppets on a grand world tour who find themselves entangled in an international crime caper. The movie is rated PG and runs 112 minutes. What’s better than a free movie, free popcorn, and free family fun?
Voyager Book Club will be feeling young again as they meet on Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. to discuss children’s books. In this book club, everyone reads a book of their choice within that month’s assigned genre and then meets to share what each one has read. So grab your favorite childhood book and join us for the discussion. You might discover some great new books to read to your kids or grandkids.
