Fort Wayne Manufacturer Cutting Second Shift
According to Inside INdiana Business, Fort Wayne-based Vera Bradley Inc. (Nasdaq: VRA) says it will eliminate second shift operations at its New Haven facility. 21 Alive WPTA reports a total of 150 employees at the location work on second shift.
Inside INdiana Business reports the bag and accessory maker employs 360 at the New Haven plant. The company says the high cost of producing goods domestically led to the the cuts.
Vera Bradley says second shift will be cut by Nov. 1, and employees who do not have the opportunity to move to first shift will be offered severance packages.
