Aug. 13 is United Way of Kosciusko’s 10th annual Day of Caring. Hundreds of volunteers are prepared to work on the homes of the disabled, seniors and lower income families of our communities.
Annually, the United Way has used various vendors of our community to help with this large undertaking. Each year, Ace Hardware of Warsaw and Builder’s Mart have been tremendous assets to the Day of Caring. Bambi Maze of Ace Hardware has supplied expertise and experience to help make the process as smooth as possible.
Ace Hardware employee, Steve Foster, has delivered supplies from Ace Hardware to the set-up site at Carey Excavating. Ace Hardware’s employees have gone out of their way to help prepare for the Day of Caring and to also help make this event successful by assisting with last minute purchases, changes in inventory and help in selecting the right products.
Steve Lemmon and his crew at Builder’s Mart have lent their building expertise to the Day of Caring as well. Delivering supplies to the workers across Kosciusko County benefited the Day of Caring greatly. Being available to assist with information and products has also helped make the Day of Caring a great occasion for the community.
The Day of Caring helps us all to realize what a great community of volunteers, businesses, churches and companies we have and to again touch the lives of those who both help those in need and of those in need.
