Gladys L. Prescott
Gladys L. Prescott, 96, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Aug. 9, 2014, at the Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born on June 20, 1918, in Warsaw, Ind., to John and Esther (Auten) Hill. On Oct. 15, 1940, she married Charles Prescott who preceded her in 2012. She earned her B.S from Indiana Wesleyan University.
She along with her husband taught school in Alaska for over 20 years, retiring in Soldotna in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene church. She was also a member of the Alaska Retired Teachers Association. Both she and Charles moved from Alaska in 1992 to Diamond Lake, then to Syracuse in 1997. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband of 72 years Charles, as well as her three brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Eastlund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at the Oak Park cemetery in Ligonier.
