Frankie Ballard to Rock Blueberry Festival
Frankie Ballard is leading a “Helluva Life.” After his lead single, “Helluva Life,” from his latest album, “Sunshine & Whiskey,” raced up the charts, the Country newcomer has been keeping the road hot, touring from California to Knoxville, Tenn.
“I am all about touring,” Ballard says. “My whole objective is to make the best music possible and take it to the people.”
Ballard was born not too far from here, in Battle Creek, Mich. He started on his path to stardom when he won Kenny Chesney’s Big Star Competition for the state of Michigan. He’s since opened for the Caribbean Cowboy [Chesney], as well as Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, and Motor City Rock icon Bob Seger.
“Frankie Ballard,” his debut album, peaked at 33 on US Country charts back in 2011. “Sunshine & Whiskey,” released in February, has already broken into the Top 40 charts and yielded the number one single, “Helluva Life.”
Known for his energetic live performances (don’t let that pretty face fool you, he’s a fantastic guitarist), Ballard will take the stage, playing his brand of Blues-tinged Country Rock, in Plymouth on August 29 as part of the annual Blueberry Festival. Ballard is opening for Country legends Montgomery Gentry.
