Elvina M. Knepper
Elvina M. Knepper, 101, of Milford, Ind., passed away July 22, 2014, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
She was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Cando, N.D., to Basil and Emma (Hanson) Drake. Elvina graduated from Egeland High School in North Dakota. Elvina married Wilbur Knepper on Oct. 29, 1930; he preceded her in death on July 24, 1986.
The family moved to Milford in 1935 where she raised her family. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Milford Christian Church. Like “Rosie the Riveter” she worked during World War II in a bomb factory at Kingsbury.
Elvina is survived by a son: Beverly Knepper, Piney Flats, Tenn.; two daughters: Joye Mae (John) Stilwell,Piney Flats, Tennessee, Sandra ( Ron) Ganger of Syracuse; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother: Emery; a sister: Ruth; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Mishler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Friday, July 25, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Milford Christian Church or Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
