Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, July 17, 5:05 p.m. South SR 19, Akron. Drivers: Amy Prater, 41, 925 West, Akron; and Tyler W. Huffman, 27, 600 South, Mentone. Prater was northbound on SR 19 and Huffman was southbound. Both drivers attempted to turn into a drive at 8345 S. SR 19 at the same time causing a collision. Damages: up to $25,000
Thursday, July 17, 5:18 a.m. North SR 15, Milford. Drivers: Marissa O. Coronado, 42, East 200 North, Warsaw; and Theodore J. Evans, 58, North 200 West, Milford. Coronado noticed sytrofoam insulation pieces in the road while traveling northbound and swerved away from the debris causing her to strike into Evans southbound vehicle and then into a ditch. Christopher Dinenno of Milwood Roofing stated the insulation had come from his vehicle after a strap broke on his truck’s load. Employees picked up remaining debris and Coronado was cited for operating without a license. Damages: up to $2,500
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, July 17, 6:53 p.m. 2588 Walton Boulevard. Drivers: Matthew Rethlake, County Road 146, Nappanee; and Cory Rogers, Briarwood Drive, Warsaw. A vehicle registered to Rethlake was parked in first gear outside of The Cutting Edge. Rethlake’s vehicle rolled backwards from its parking spot when he exited and into a parked vehicle registered to Rogers. Damages: up to $2,500
Thursday, July 17, 5:11 p.m. 2501 Walton Boulevard. Drivers: M.C. Cokl, 87, South Maple Street, South Whitley; and Joseph R. Pavlik, 56, Mason Avenue, Chicago, Ill. Cokl was attempting to back out her parking space at Walmart when she struck into Pavlik’s boat trailer attached to his vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
