Ribfest Boasts Lower Prices, National Teams
The all new Indy BBQ Ribfest,” scheduled for Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27 in Military Park promises greatly reduced food and beverage prices plus a collection of the most celebrated grill masters ever to appear in Indianapolis. The family–friendly event also features a busy music stage offering a heavy portion of blues, plus some rock and country for extra flavor.
Nine national, regional and local barbecue teams will compete for prizes while offering favorites like ribs, chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket, each with signature sauces. Many of the participants have been on TV outlets like the Food Channeland and the popular syndicated show BBQ Pitmasters. Ribfest producers believe the lower food prices will encourage customers to sample more items and attend multiple days.
Throughout the weekend, bluesy, jammy sounds will be coming off the music stage. Powerhouse acts like The Stacy Mitchhart Band, Howard and the White Boys, Todd Harrolld Band and Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke and Hungry Blues Band are set to perform. Other acts like Indy’s Press the Glass, ZZ Top cover band Eliminator, Sugar Shot and many others will also be playing.
Organizers of the new BBQ Ribfest have produced a similar event in Fort Wayne for 17 years which was named in 2009 to “Martha Stewart Living” magazine’s top 10 list of best Ribfests in America BBQ Ribfest promises great food and fun for all ages.
