Geneva Veasey Earns Patty Hunt Award
Geneva Veasey, Claypool, was awarded the Patty Hunt award. Patty was a devout member of the Purdue State Extension Chorus (now known as Melody Makers of Indiana) for many years. She maintained an effervescent personality and attitude towards the support, participation, and growth of the state chorus. She served not only her county chorus, but also the state chorus with unending energy and drive.
Hunt had a passion for servitude. She was a strong leader with a passion for music. Her service and commitment to her county chorus and the state chorus generated an everlasting vitality that is reflected in the lives of the recipients of her award.
Geneva has been a member of the Happy Homemakers Extension Homemaker Club for 30 years and a member of the Kosciusko County Melody Makers for 25 years. She sings soprano for the group and says her most rewarding experience has been to get to know women of all ages who she would not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise. She loves sharing music and harmonizing with all of her new friends.
Dan Beam is the director of the Kosciusko County Melody Makers. Geneva says he is a great director who keeps it fun for all participants. He is a very devoted leader.
