Take A Trip Down Memory Lane
At this year’s North Webster High School alumni banquet on July 12, four classes were honored.
The evening began at 5 p.m. with a warm welcome from president of the alumni association, Ron Shipley. Then there was a social hour for old classmates to catch up with each other.
The classes of 1934, 1944, 1954 and 1964 were honored during the evening, but alumni from many other classes joined in the fun. There were no members from the class of 1934 present, but this year would have marked their 80th year since graduating.
At around 6 p.m. the dinner banquet began and alumni lined the hall to get in line for food. The Katering Kitchen Inc. catered the event.
As is the same at every North Webster High School alumni dinner, the 2014 officers discussed the previous year and highlighted topics for the coming year. Secretary Cheryl Leedy gave the 2014 secretary’s report and Fran Bowser, treasurer, gave the treasurer’s report.
Following the discussion was an introduction of the 2015 officers. Officers serve four-year terms and will remain the same until 2018. Elected were Ron Shipley as president, Cheryl Leedy as secretary and Fran Bowser as treasurer.
Entertainment for the rest of the evening was provided by musical group Kris Stump and the Dixie Clucks. The next alumni banquet will take place on July 11, 2015.
