‘Swan Lake’ Coming to the Morris
The State Ballet Theatre of Russia presents “Swan Lake” at the Morris Performing Arts Center on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is a full-length ballet in four acts with 50 of Russia’s brightest ballet stars to bring this romantic tale of true love to glorious life!
Founded by legendary dancer and former Prima ballerina of The Bolshoi Theatre Ballet, Maya Plissetskaya, The State Ballet of Russia, now under the direction of award-winning dancer and Moiseyev soloist Nikolay Anokhin, presents one of the greatest classical ballets of all time. This full-scale production, set to the music of Tchaikovsky and based on Russian folklore and German legend, follows a heroic young prince as he works to free the beautiful swan maiden from an evil spell. Choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.
